FAQs

-WHEN ARE PORCELAIN CROWNS PREFERRED?

Metal fused porcelain crowns can be used as a replacement for a single tooth or as a bridge itself. The metal alloy in the underlying tooth formation is extremely durable but it has low light transmission. These crowns are more robust and durable and are often used for posterior teeth (molars) that are subjected to pressure while chewing. Metal fused porcelain crowns are often used with implants. However, metal fused porcelain crowns are not often used as a replacement for anterior teeth as they do not transmit light effectively. While designing a new smile for our patients, we recommend veneers such as zirconium and E-Max for a natural appearance. It has a cosmetic benefit for patients who are generally not satisfied with their existing teeth.

-WHEN PORCELAIN CROWNS ARE NECESSARY?

  • For the treatment of broken, cracked or surface damaged teeth
  • For patients who are not satisfied with their teeth alignment or smile
  • To replace missing teeth
  • To strengthen, protect and support weak teeth
  • With dental implants
